Bring Your Own Bag

BRING YOUR OWN BAG

On July 1, 2009 we stopped offering plastic shopping bags in our Canadian stores. We'll continue to encourage you to bring your own bag or purchase one of our reusable IKEA Blue Bag for just 75 cents or $1.

Preferred Parking

HYBRID/FUEL-EFFICIENT PREFERRED PARKING

If you're driving a hybrid or fuel-efficient car, defined by the Canadian government as one that uses less than 6.5 litres of gas per 100 kilometres, then go ahead and pull into the spot with the green Reserved parking sign, located right after the handicapped and family parking spaces near the store entrance.

We've reserved two of these parking spots at each of our stores — the least we can do for IKEA customers who have made the more environmentally friendly choice of driving hybrid and fuel-efficient cars.

Shuttle to IKEA

TAKE THE SHUTTLE TO IKEA

Help the environment and save time by taking a shuttle bus to IKEA. IKEA now offers shuttle bus service to customers shopping at two of our Toronto locations.

Recycle your Batteries and CFLs

RECYCLE YOUR BATTERIES AND COMPACT FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS (CFLs)

Don't throw your batteries and CFLs out with the garbage — these products contain low levels of mercury and must be recycled properly. Simply bring them to any IKEA store and we'll dispose of them safely through our "Free Take Back" program.

Energy Star

LOOK FOR THE ENERGY STAR® LOGO

Reduce your energy costs and protect the environment by choosing, whenever possible, products that bear the ENERGY STAR® logo — a highly recognized and reliable symbol that tells you a product or appliance is energy efficient.
