PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS
Whether we’re choosing wood for a kitchen table, or beef for our famous Swedish meatballs (you’ve got to try them with lingonberry jam!), IKEA ensures that our products and materials are always environmentally adapted and safe.

SUPPLIERS
IKEA conducts business in many countries, including emerging economies and developing countries. Before choosing any supplier or service provider, we make sure they meet our strict social, labour, and environmental standards. Among other things, this means no child labour and no wood harvesting practices that destroy forests.

ENERGY AND TRANSPORT
We’re concerned about climate change and wanted to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions caused by our operations. As a start, we decided to reduce the energy we use to heat and cool our buildings and transport our products.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
We believe we have an obligation to the communities where we do business. That’s why we’ve made it part of our creed to be a good community partner by doing things like supporting health and education for local women and children. We also help to protect the environment through sustainable forestry programs. After all, it’s our community too.
